Is it to early to say? Maybe. But I have a hard enough time finding new music that excites me. So here is a list of ten albums I loved this year. They will be listed in number order but this does not reflect the ranking really except #1.
10. Bad Brains-Build A Nation

Tons of people hated on this record because of H.R’S vocals. but fuck that the music was still awesome and it sounded like a Bad Brains record what more could you ask for.
9. Coliseum- No Salvation

Raw, Angry, Dirty, Heavy what more could you want.
8. Portugal The Man- Church Mouth

This Album was fucking rocking start to finish. Kind of southern twang almost maybe? I don’t know but this record is hot fire.
7. Hot Cross-Risk Revival

Another record Hot Cross fans hated on. I fucking loved it. it was a good combo of A New Set Of Lungs mixed with Fairtrades.
6. Poison The Well- Versions

This was the saving grace for this band. It doesn’t compare to their seminal album Opposite of December, but this record was progressive with an almost Snapcase vibe. Haters should give this one a listen.
5. Explosions In The Sky- All Of The Sudden I Miss Everyone

Did you expect anything less from this band? Great record.
4. Every Time I Die- The Big Dirty

Makes me want to drink….in the good way.
3. As Tall As Lions- Into the Flood
Some of the most beautiful music. I highly suggest you pick this up. 4.95 on ITunes.
2. Jimmy Eat World- Chase The Light

This band never disappoints. This album has not left my cd player in months.
1. Minus The Bear- Planet Of Ice

This is by far my favorite record of 2007. I really have no words to describe how much i love this album. i can listen to it 10 times in a row and still not get enough.
Records i wish i spent more time with:
Pinback, Pelican, Les Savy Fav
I might have forgotten some record so remind me if I did.

funny. i’ve been contemplating a top ten list for a little while now. i love reading what other people have on theirs so i was pretty stoked when, while scanning your blog for the first time, i saw yours. like a lot of the other stuff you’ve written about, i haven’t heard most of your picks (at the drive in’s really the only other band whose albums i own) but i was delightfully surprised to see that jimmy eat world record on there. i’m a little giddy, i’ll admit it. isn’t it fantastic?? i can’t get enough of it. i’m so excited someone else feels the same!
